Brighton Pride seeks new trustees |

 Do you want to have more of a say in the running of Pride in Brighton & Hove? The organization – a registered charity – is now looking for new trustees to join its board. As a trustee, you will make decisions that will determine the future of the charity and have responsibility for ensuring Pride fulfils its charitable objectives and other legal obligations. The Board of Pride in Brighton & Hove – which has 14 trustees - sits once a month but the commitment and time required from Trustees is a likely to be considerably greater.

 Gay couples are being sought by BBC3 to take part in a new TV series about “gorgeous couples”. The programme makes are specifically looking for couples (gay or straight) who are proud to say that they are the best-looking couple that they know.
“We are looking for gorgeous couples to take part in a brand new series. We want competitive couples who think they’ve got what it takes to win our special prize.”

California's Prop 8 overturned |

 A US federal judge has abolished California’s infamous Proposition 8 – the legal ruling that prohibited same-sex marriage in the State. The voter-approved ban was implemented in November 2008, with those in favour of the ban outnumbering those against by 52% to 48%. However, after months of review, Chief Judge Vaughn R Walker ruled Prop 8 “unconstitutional” on 4 August, and in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment – which states that “no state shall […] deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws”.

 Here’s a future date for your diaries. How many clubs bump up their admission charge when they throw a big birthday bash? How many clubs decide to thank their loyal customers by dropping their admission charge on their birthday? We’re pleased to report that the peeps at Duckie definitely fall into the latter camp, as they will be offering free entry to all for their swanky 15th birthday bash! For this special occasion, they’ll be upping sticks from their regular Royal Vauxhall Tavern home and taking over the Clore Ballroom at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre. It takes place on Friday 10 September from 9.30pm till 2am.
