Film review: Jon Favreau's Chef

chefCarl Casper (Jon Favreau) is the slightly Gorden Ramsay-esque chef of a hit Los Angeles restaurant. However, he’s resting on his laurels – churning out the meals demanded by his boss (Dustin Hoffman). When a respected internet blogger reviews the restaurant and personally slates Casper, the portly middle-aged divorcee is shocked out of complacency and begins to question what he’s doing with his career.

Competition: TFL Pride

TfL1London is set to see its first ever rainbow zebra crossing as part of Transport for London’s (TfL’s) support for the Pride in London event on Saturday 28 June 2014. The rainbow crossing, similar to ones that have appeared in Tel Aviv and Sydney, will be in place for one day only during the parade at the junction of Pall Mall East and Suffolk Street, on the site of an existing pedestrian crossing. The parade will be passing very close to the colourful crossing, which will provide onlookers with a great photo opportunity.

After last year’s series of sell-out shows, Boylexe returns on 4 July 2014 to resume its twice monthly residency at the new-look Shadow Lounge in Soho. It’s aimed, says creator and promoter Howard Wilmot, at “thinking girls and gay men who want a raucous, fun Friday night out but with a dash of brains, balls and sexiness.”
