Studs, Heels & Heaven

IMG 0680On Friday 8 May, the King's Cross Rugby Steelers, Rugby Union's oldest gay and bisexual rugby team, put on an epic two-show event at Heaven nightclub, featuring the best of the Kings Cross Steelers' talent. The show included drag, violin solos, comedy performances... and even a little nudity.

The all-singing-and-dancing rugby team were raising money for their next away trip, to compete in the Bingham Cup 2016 in Nashville, regarded as the World Cup for gay rugby. Extra special guests on stage, were Divalicious -the King’s Cross Steelers resident 'girl group' - Matthew Ali, Andrew McDowell and Dan Mullings - created brand new routines especially for the night.

The Steelers have been a team since 1995, and have played an important part in promoting the gay rugby union, helping to create the International Gay Rugby Association and Board (IGRAB). The union now has over 50 teams worldwide, with IGRAB hosting the 2012 Bingham Cup tournament in Manchester before moving the tournament to Nashville for 2016.

For more information on the Steelers and to help them raise money for their next trip, calendars are still available at the KXSRFC Calendar Page
