Former TOWIE Star Comes Out As Gay On ITV

Former TOWIE star Charlie King has come out as being gay during an interview on ITV's This Morning on Thursday morning.

Speaking to Phillip Schofield and Amanda Holden he said, "Our stories will help people, there is a way out. You are not alone. I want to be a positive person, telling people 'you can do this'. Hisannouncement on the daytime talk show was made on National Coming Out day to raise awareness for support group R U Coming Out.

"I had a girlfriend, she was the first person I spoke to and told. It was a proper relationship but I was very aware when I was seeing her thing weren't quite right. If something doesn't click, it doesnt click."

When asked how he felt now, Charlie said: "I feel so positive about this."

Charlie briefly dated TOWIE co-star, Gemma Collins in 2012 and had a close friendship with openly gay TOWIE star Bobby Norris. The Essex lad often found himself defending his sexuality on the show and was often compared with Bobby to gay couple Elton John and David Furnish.

Support for Charlie's brave move poured in via social media from the general public and other celebrities, while ex-girlfriend Gemma Collins posted something altogether more cryptic.

Out In The City magazine congratulate you, Charlie!
