Out In The City

Summer Rites: Out on the Dock

summer ritesLGBT festival Summer Rites is returning to London on Saturday 26 July 2014 – but in a slightly different format. Previous Summer Rites have taken place in Shoreditch Park in Hackney, but the 2014 event will be a special 'Out on the Dock' festival at Tobacco Dock – following the success of a similar Winter Pride event at the venue earlier in the year.

Out on the Dock will run from midday till 11pm and will feature contributions from many of the capital's club promoters, cabaret performers and clubbing brands. Clubs taking part in 'The Great Gallery' will include Trade, DTPM, Crash and Love Muscle, along with their associated DJs.

There will be a Girls Arena provided by Code, Mint, She Bar and MissFits, plus a 'Bear Brig' with the guys from Tonker, Meat and Hot Fuzz. Bootylicious will take care of the 'r'n'b terrace'. Finally, there will be an East Bloc room, featuring the promoters from Handsome, Dish and themenwhofell2earth, while Hannah Holland, Homoelectric, Jamie Bull, Batty Bass and Gutterslut, among others, will take care of the 'Eastern Starboard'. You can also expect 15 themed bars, a Victorian steam fair, a food market, side shows and pop-up galleries.

Tobacco Dock can be found at 50 Porters Walk, London, E1W 2SF. Early bird tickets had sold out at the time of going to press, but you can still purchase advance tickets for £23 (£12.50 for students and £16.50 for key workers). VIP tickets, which allow access to the VIP area, cost £58.96. Full details at www.summerritesevents.com
