New patrons for AKT
Linda Riley, co-owner of Square Peg Media – which published Out In The City magazine – has been announced as one of three new patrons of the Albert Kennedy Trust – the charity for young homeless lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Her appointment comes along with two other new patrons – Coronation Street actor Charlie Condou (pictured) and Dan Gillespie Sells, singer with The Feeling.
Speaking of the new appointments, AKT Chair, Edward Lord, said:
“Over many years, AKT has benefitted greatly from the involvement of high profile individuals who have helped raise awareness of our work in supporting LGBT young people as well as participating in the raising of vital funds to assist our future development – we are thrilled to announce the appointment of our three newest patrons, Dan Gillespie Sells, Linda Riley and Charlie Condou and look forward to working with them.”
As well as owning Out In The City, Linda Riley publishes g3 magazine and owns the OutNews website, as well as producing the annual Alternative Parenting Show. She is a lesbian mother to twin daughters, and has campaigned for recognition of same sex parenting and to challenge homophobic bullying in schools.
