Ten out of ten
Shaping up to be one of the weekend’s most essential London parties is The Cock 10 Year Anniversary bash, which will take place on Saturday night (21 July) at XOYO, 32- 37 Cowper Street, London EC2A 4AP. The Cock ran for several years at the venue formerly known as Ghetto in Soho, before that venue closed down to make way for the Crossrail train station.
It was famed as one of Soho’s most hip and happening Friday night clubs, with its DJs riding the electroclash and alternative dance wave of the early noughties. The Cock's arrival offered an alternative to the omnipresent house music that dominated the gay scene at the time. To celebrate its ten-year anniversary, the original team behind the night are staging this special party. DJs will include Mark Moore (S'Express), Princess Julia, DJ Rokk and Jim Stanton. A second room will showcase the team from Hot Boy Dancing Spot; The Lovely Jonjo, Michael Magnan (NYC), Hello Mozart and Adam Kraft (NYC). Original door hosts Julian and Mel will take care of the door. We’ve also heard that some very special guests will be appearing on the night – an act who were showcased at the club right at the beginning of their stellar career!
Doors will be open from 9pm till 3am, with admission from £8 in advance. Check the Facebook page at ‘The Cock 10 Year Anniversary Party’ for more details.
