Gay's The Word attacked

gaysthewordGay’s The Word bookshop in Bloomsbury was amongst the many businesses to suffer damage during the London riots. However, it was the sole business to suffer damage in Camden on the evening of Sunday 7 August, and the owners believe the attack was homophobically motivated.
“There is clearly a lot of unrest and unpredictable energy in parts of London right now and there may be some people wanting to exploit this fact and use it as cover to express their malice for those they do not like,” said a spokesperson on the bookshop’s Facebook page. The shop’s front window was smashed and eggs were thrown in to the store, damaging stock.
