Duckie turns 15

duckieHere’s a future date for your diaries. How many clubs bump up their admission charge when they throw a big birthday bash? How many clubs decide to thank their loyal customers by dropping their admission charge on their birthday? We’re pleased to report that the peeps at Duckie definitely fall into the latter camp, as they will be offering free entry to all for their swanky 15th birthday bash! For this special occasion, they’ll be upping sticks from their regular Royal Vauxhall Tavern home and taking over the Clore Ballroom at the Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre. It takes place on Friday 10 September from 9.30pm till 2am.

“The original Duckie gang of Amy Lamé, Readers Wifes (sic) and the Cloths invite you to a 21st century music hall to celebrate 15 years of south London show business,” say the team. “Socialise, dance to pop records and witness a luverly late night contemporary performance platform featuring Brixton’s finest hip-hop dance chicks The Stylinquents, senior citizen songstresses The Hoxton Singers, hit parade hipsters Frisky and Mannish, cuntry Duckie A-Lister Tina C and hoola-hooping spectacularist Marawa.”
Again, there will be no booking, tickets or fee – simply turn up on the night.
