bbc_threeGay couples are being sought by BBC3 to take part in a new TV series about “gorgeous couples”. The programme makes are specifically looking for couples (gay or straight) who are proud to say that they are the best-looking couple that they know.

“We are looking for gorgeous couples to take part in a brand new series. We want competitive couples who think they’ve got what it takes to win our special prize.”

California's Prop 8 overturned

propeightdemoA US federal judge has abolished California’s infamous Proposition 8 – the legal ruling that prohibited same-sex marriage in the State. The voter-approved ban was implemented in November 2008, with those in favour of the ban outnumbering those against by 52% to 48%. However, after months of review, Chief Judge Vaughn R Walker ruled Prop 8 “unconstitutional” on 4 August, and in violation of the Fourteenth Amendment – which states that “no state shall […] deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws”. 

Duckie turns 15

Tom Hardy reveals gay past

The 32-year-old star, in an interview with Now magazine, was asked if he’d ever slept with a man. He replied, “Of course I have. I'm an actor for f*ck's sake. The Bloomsbury Set

41790_109282122443164_5032_nIt’s not often new gay bars open up in central London these days, but a new one to stick its head above the parapet is The Bloomsbury Set – an intimate little basement establishment just a stone’s throw from the Brunswick Centre in… well, Bloomsbury of course! For those not familiar with area, it’s the historical district of London between King’s Cross, Russell Square and Euston, centred in and around Bloomsbury Square.

High drug use amongst gay community

cocaineNew research from the UK Drugs Policy Commission has concluded that gay men and lesbians are far more likely to put their health at risk from drug misuse than heterosexuals. Results of the study, published in Pink Paper and The Observer, quotes findings from the British Crime Survey, which estimate that 10% of heterosexuals took drugs last year, compared with 33% of gay or bisexual people.
